Deadline: June 1 (FAFSA priority date)
Financial aid program for North Carolina residents from households making $80,000 or less. Award can be used at any of the 58 community colleges or 16 UNC System universities to cover tuition, fees, books, food, and housing. Combines federal Pell Grant with state-funded financial aid. Eligibility: NC resident eligible for in-state tuition; high school graduate or equivalency; enrolled in undergraduate program taking at least 6 credit hours per semester; FAFSA SAI at or below 7,500; household AGI $80,000 or less; meets Pell eligibility criteria and Satisfactory Academic Progress standards; not in default on state loans/grants; within semester limits (6 for two-year, 10 for four-year, 12 for five-year programs). Part-time students receive partial award.
