UBC Vancouver PhD Minimum Funding Package

Effective September 2026 onward, full-time domestic and international students enrolled in a UBC-Vancouver PhD program must be provided with a minimum funding package of $40,000 for each of the first four years of their PhD. The package may include internal or external awards, teaching-related work, research assistantships, graduate academic assistantships, and, in some circumstances, part-time employment in the student's field of research. It does not apply to part-time PhD programs or EdD/DMA programs.
