Gamecock Guarantee
University of South Carolina
A scholarship covering undergraduate tuition, technology fee, and average program fees for eligible first-generation students from South Carolina families with high financial need. Provides a minimum award of $5,000 per year; if combined with other aid does not cover costs, the guarantee increases support to cover the difference. Eligibility: South Carolina resident; first-generation college student (neither parent completed a four-year degree); admitted to USC Columbia; enrolls as first-time, full-time freshman in fall; pursues bachelor's degree; applies for admission by Dec. 1; submits FAFSA; eligible students are invited after April 1 on a first-come, first-served basis based on FAFSA completion date.
