Award: $20,000
To encourage the development of artists in architecture. Qualifications: Applicants must be creative artists of Cuban citizenship or direct lineage (having a Cuban parent or grandparent); candidates engaged in research, students, or performing artists are not eligible; fellowships can only be awarded a maximum of two times to an individual; must be fellows who are not US citizens and who are living abroad must provide a US taxpayer identification number when they accept the fellowship to receive payment. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on panels of qualified jurors. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application and completed in English or Spanish; following details include: prepare two narrative statements: the architect or designer statement describes their personal history, their development as an architect or designer, and their plans for the future; the project statement describes the project or activity that their would undertake if awarded a CINTAS fellowship; must submit two letters of recommendation with the application; each letter of recommendation must be submitted as a pdf attached to an email containing the recommender's signature and written in English or Spanish; hard copies of the signed letters are acceptable only if necessary.
