To recognize youth who participate in hockey while maintaining high academic standards in preparation for future educational enrichment. Qualifications: Applicants must be Jackson County resident; students in grades 7-12 who play hockey, including home-schooled students; minimum GPA of 3.0; must play hockey during the current school year; must attend an accredited college, university, vocational or technical institute. Selection criteria: Selection will be by lottery drawing: One for a student in grades 7, 8, or 9; One for a student in grades 10, 11, or 12. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; required documents: 1 letter of recommendation; transcript; proof of FAFSA completion. Focus: Sports studies.
