To provide higher education opportunities for the young people of Newark; to provide an opportunity to gain practical experience at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center through internships. Selection criteria: Recipients are selected based on merit and demonstrated potential to become leading arts professionals. How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; high school transcript; three letters of recommendation: one from an arts teacher, one from a non-arts teacher, and one from a principal or guidance counselor; SAT scores; personal essay describing how this scholarship will help them achieve their goals; resume; list of pieces that will be performed for the audition. Focus: Performing arts.
