To provide students pursuing a nursing degree at Messiah University and to Cumberland County Pennsylvania students in the pursuit of a nursing degree as they graduate from Carlisle High School and Boiling Springs High School. Qualifications: Applicants should have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA; must be applied to an accredited baccalaureate nursing program or an RN-BSN program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; current high school seniors attending Carlisle High School or Boiling Springs High School must be matriculated undergraduate nursing students in the fall of the year; current nursing students at Messiah University may be in any year of study in the fall of the year; membership in the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) and/or the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) is highly recommended for those applicants who are currently enrolled in nursing pre-licensure programs; must be member in the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) is required for applicants who are currently RNs; previous recipients of an NFP scholarship are not eligible; may only apply to one NFP scholarship per calendar year, excluding the Jack E. Barger, Sr. Memorial Nursing Scholarship. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; provide all required accompanying documentation: official transcript, two letters of reference on official letterhead; completed essays; a high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi - JPG format) headshot of the applicant in professional attire for publicity use by PSNA/NFP.
