To support local students, especially student athletes, who are pursuing postsecondary education. Qualifications: Applicants must be HS Senior; must be resident: Washington or Noble County, OH or Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt, or Wood, WV; must have GPA: 2.0 minimum; preference: financial need, strong commitment to athletics - team player, equipment or team manager or scorekeeper - and leadership in the school community; athletes for whom all expenses are covered are ineligible; be both high school seniors and current college students; must be residents in the foundation's service area: Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood Counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; consider the following: academics, activities/leadership, service, financial need; special circumstances; based on dedication to athletics, active participation in school community, well rounded individual.
