To help students in the Connecticut LGBTQ+ community pursue their educational and career goals. Qualifications: Applicants must be high school students or high school graduates intending to attend an accredited college, university, or technical institute as freshmen; identify as LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, etc.) or as an LGBTQ+ Ally; reside in Connecticut; be active within the LGBTQ+ community or actively engaged in addressing LGBTQ+ social issues within their school or community; if still enrolled in high school or its equivalent, must expect to graduate by July 1 of the current year and have a record sufficient for acceptance into an accredited college, university, or technical institute. Selection criteria: Judges will take into consideration the candidate’s support, education, advocacy, service or activity in the LGBTQ+ community, other interests, the essay, recommendations, and other factors; Judges’ decisions are final.
