To support a Shawan or Menominee County graduating senior planning to pursue a degree in the writing field, such as journalism, creative writing, English, etc. Qualifications: Applicants must be a graduating high school senior from a public, private, or home-school who resides or attends school in Shawano or Menominee County, WI; must plan to pursue a writing related postsecondary degree in the upcoming fall semester. Selection criteria: Selection will be judged by members of the Shawano Area Writers or their designees. How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form (available online) and a writing sample (500 to 1,000 words) based on the prompt provided on the website. Completed materials must be submitted via postal mail or email. Focus: Creative writing; English language and literature; Journalism; Writing.
