To help early-stage doctoral students in the humanities and social sciences formulate innovative dissertation research proposals through workshops, explanatory summer research, and writing guided by peer review and faculty mentorship. Qualifications: Applicants should be enrolled in a PhD program and working on developing a doctoral dissertation research proposal at an accredited university in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda; students who recently completed a master’s degree and are in the process of enrolling in a PhD program at an accredited university in the eligible countries, and successfully enrolled by the time of the award, will also be considered.
