To provide hands-on research training for undergraduate and Master students with interest in the sciences and exposure to laboratory medicine. Qualifications: Candidates must be a current undergraduate, Master’s or medical student, or lab volunteer while in transition to a graduate or medical school; candidate must be available to work full-time for 8 weeks during the summer under the supervision of a Center member; candidate must present his/her work accomplishments at the Progress Report meeting in-person on August 9, last year. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee and following criteria; the student eligibility and potential; clarity and feasibility of the research summary; the mentor’s enthusiasm in their LOS. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; e-mail the following items: curriculum vitae; one-page description of a research project with its title and proposed project start and end dates - Project must be related to alcoholic liver or pancreatic diseases, cirrhosis, or related biology; mentor’s supporting letter. Focus: Medical research.
