To respond to the dentist shortage in Vermont and ensure an adequate number of dentists for the future healthcare needs of Vermonters. Qualifications: Applicant must be a current graduate student who has completed the first year and is entering the second, third, or fourth year of a dental program; must be enrolled full-time in an accredited dental program at a college/university approved for federal Title IV funding; does not need to live in Vermont while attending school, but must demonstrate a history of previous Vermont residency and intend to work as a dentist in Vermont for at least one year following licensure; must demonstrate financial need and academic achievement. Selection criteria: Selection is based on essay, recommendation letter, financial need, academic achievement, and resume. How to apply: Applicants must submit the Unified Scholarship Application online through their MyVSAC account; Applicants must complete the FAFSA; Applicants must provide at least one recommendation letter from a non-relative; Applicants must write an essay focusing on their commitment and goals, financial need, community service, and uniqueness; Applicants must submit their official transcript; Applicants must provide a résumé.
