To support students who have a declared major in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)-related field. Qualifications: Applicants must be of Latino or Hispanic origin; have a declared major in and been accepted into a STEM program; students with the following enrollment statuses are eligible to apply: current college students entering their junior or senior year at a 4-year undergraduate college or university in the upcoming academic school year and planning to enroll on a full-time or part-time basis; current community college students transferring to a 4-year undergraduate college or university in the upcoming academic school year and planning to enroll on a full-time or part-time basis; graduate of a high school in the following Northern California counties: Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Marin County, Napa County, San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, Solano County, Sonoma County and Yolo County; or a Graduate of a high school not in the above counties, but enrolled at a college/university within the 11 listed counties; minimum cumulative college grade point average of 3.0; demonstrated financial need. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria. How to apply: Applicants must submit online applications form; should include letters can be up to 800 words in length; the body of the letter should include: letter-writer’s relationship to the applicant; length of time they have known the individual; why they recommend the applicant for this particular scholarship; why they believe the applicant will be successful in their academic goals; any additional information about the applicant that should be considered.
