To provide financial support to students pursuing a career in avionics and/or aircraft maintenance through technical training and education at a learning institution. Qualifications: Applicants must be AOPA members that are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent legal residents; teacher must be a current, paid, full-time employee of a school or school system in previous school year and utilizing the AOPA Foundation High School Aviation STEM Curriculum. Selection criteria: Selection of candidates will be based on their application materials. How to apply: Applicants must complete an online application with written responses; upload their most recent high school transcript, including the previous school year; provide two references, with at least one from a teacher, counselor, flight instructor, coach, or other school official (both references may be from teachers, counselors, coaches, or other school officials); references must be from individuals who supervised the applicant, not peers of the same age; references cannot be provided by a parent, guardian, or relative; if a parent, guardian, or relative submits a reference, the application will be disqualified.
