To provide for the undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students who are enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory pathway for careers in engineering. Qualifications: Applicants must be undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a course of study related to the HVAC&R profession; Applicants must have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a class standing in the top 30 percent; Applicants must attend an institution that hosts an active ASHRAE Student Branch or has a program accredited by ABET or by a recognized equivalent agency or has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with ABET. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee criteria. How to apply: Applicants must submit an application form; include an official transcript of grades, which must be mailed, sent through an online electronic transfer service, or sent directly from the applicant’s registrar’s office on their behalf—photocopies will not be accepted; three signed letters of recommendation are required—one from an instructor or faculty advisor, one from a current or past employer, and one character reference (other than a family member); in cases where the institution has an ASHRAE student branch on campus, a letter from the faculty advisor of that branch may serve as one of the three letters of recommendation.
