To provide for students residing or attending school within the district boundaries. Qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a post-secondary welding educational or training program; must reside in and attend school within the boundaries of an AWS District, which includes the Continental United States and portions of Canada and Mexico; some Scholarships require AWS Membership, while other scholarships give priority to AWS Members. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on academic achievements, potential in the welding field, and residency within the specified geographic area. How to apply: Applicants must submit an online application form; include the cost of attendance—tuition, fees, books, or supplies required for the course of instruction; transcript(s)—official or unofficial transcripts from the school most recently attended, which may be a high school, trade school, college, or university; a personal statement describing the applicant's ambitions, goals, background, and other factors to help the selection committee understand their commitment to pursuing welding education.
