To provided college scholarships, and has helped maintain memorials honoring police officers in the state of California who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Qualifications: Applicants must be for over 43 years, our fund has assisted the immediate families of police officers injured or killed in the line of duty, assisted public safety personnel in need of financial assistance due to unusual circumstances; open to senior high school students applying for college who are legal dependents of active Anaheim police sworn personnel; Dependents of reserve or retired Anaheim police personnel are not eligible for this scholarship. Selection criteria: Selection will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of past and present educators, local business and community leaders. How to apply: Applicants must be intended for use in scholastic and vocational fields only; a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale); a copy of the applicant's most recent transcripts (official or unofficial); must submit a 500-word essay on the following topic: Considering the vital role law enforcement plays in upholding public safety and serving communities, how has the applicant’s parent’s career in this field shaped the applicant’s personal values and influenced their future aspirations.
