To provide for law students and very recent law school graduates from local law schools who have demonstrated potential for community service and leadership in the Asian-Pacific Islander community. Qualifications: Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing at a Sacramento area law school (Lincoln, McGeorge or UC Davis); or currently reside in the Sacramento area and have recently graduated from law school in past year. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; basis of the potential for community service and leadership in the Asian-Pacific Islander community; academic achievement; financial need. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online nomination form; submit all of the following information and materials in a single PDF: Eligibility evidence; a copy of applicants current law school registration or law school diploma, as applicable, will suffice; a personal statement, not to exceed three double-spaced pages in length; this statement must include applicants name, mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number; must sign and date applicants statement; statement may contain any relevant information to give context to applicants application. Generally, the Foundation's Scholarship Committee is most interested in employment experience and ambitions, community and campus activities, and life experiences. If applicants feel applicants have overcome any form of hardship; to be creative and innovative in applicants approach to the personal statement; Current résumé; Current law school transcripts; financial need: Financial information, including, at minimum, an itemization of financial resources and expenses for the nine-month academic period; One or more references, including each reference's name and contact information, and a brief description of applicants relationship to each reference.
