To provide female college students interested in sports media careers (sports writing, broadcast production, social media and media relations) in paid summer internships. Qualifications: Applicants must be female college students who have completed at least one year of college (sophomores and above; grad students are also eligible); must be an AWSM student member to apply; students graduating in last year are allowed to apply. Selection criteria: Applications will be evaluated by the AWSM board members and appropriate media professionals. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include a resume; a headshot; a personal statement: in 500 or fewer words, three to five work samples: such as links to articles or news releases; links to published work on YouTube that show applicants production or reporting skills; social media campaigns; or any other relevant work experience; three references: references should be able to vouch for applicants character and quality of work; AWSM student membership. Focus: Media arts; Sports writing.
