To provided to Librarians for research or a special course of study to survey foreign libraries or programs outside North America. Qualifications: Applicants must be degreed professionals working in a library, archives, or other approved information setting; LIS faculty are not eligible, nor are students currently enrolled in LIS doctoral or master's degree programs; must hold an MLIS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited master's degree program, or from another program approved for Beta Phi Mu membership; are not required to be members of Beta Phi Mu, but non-members are encouraged to apply for professional membership if eligible. Selection criteria: Selection will be judged based on: a) Clarity and completeness of the proposed plan of research; b) Confidence that the study will produce sound results; and c) Applicability to the theory and/or practice of the profession. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; current vita; one to two page description of the planned research study, including how the information gained is intended to be used (publications, presentations, project development, etc.). Include brief descriptions of any previous research projects and any previous experience in foreign travel or study, including any languages applicants can read, write, or speak. Focus: Library and archival sciences.
