To commemorate the company and its employees by awarding scholarships to students living where the company once operated. Qualifications: Applicants must live in northeast Minnesota or northwest Wisconsin; are planning to attend a college, university, community or technical college, or trade school; must be Graduate of: Mesabi East high school; attending a 2 or 4 year school; field of study: Minerals or Mining Industry preferred; must expenses of post-secondary education at any accredited college, university or technical/ vocational school.
