To benefit of graduating high school seniors wishing to pursue careers in science or pre-engineering fields. Qualifications: Applicants have are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have at least a 3.0 GPA, need financial assistance to attend college, and intend to work as scientists in a variety of fields excluding healthcare and education; the ideal B&W Y-12 candidate will major in physics, chemistry, pre-engineering, biomedical technology, environmental science or similar fields; must be residency requirement: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Knox (TN), Loudon, Morgan, Roane, or Sevier County; enroll full time at one of the following institutions: Maryville College, Pellissippi State Community College, Roane State Community College, Tennessee Technological University, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Walters State Community College. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on evaluated by the Foundation's volunteer evaluators and ETF staff; Foundation's Board of Directors will review all recommendations and approve the awards.
