First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association
Award: $1250 – $1250

To help members pursue graduate degrees in the Catholic priesthood, diaconate, or religious life. Qualifications: Applicants must be a member of good standing with the association for at least three years prior to date of application and hold one of the following policies in his or her own name: a $1,000 minimum permanent life insurance certificate; a $5,000 minimum term certificate; or an annuity certificate; membership standing shall be verified from the records of the home office; members of “Z” branches from the former Polish Women’s Alliance of America (PWAA) are eligible; must select an accredited college or university in the United States and be enrolled full-time in a program leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree or to include post-graduate work leading to at least an associate’s degree; any member preparing for the Catholic priesthood (seminarian) at the graduate level may be eligible to receive a scholarship for two academic years if approved and necessary paperwork is complete; any member preparing for a Catholic diaconate or Catholic religious life is eligible to receive a scholarship at the graduate level for two academic years if approved and the necessary paperwork is complete. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on judging committee based on the following How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include: an official transcript of the applicant’s college or university record for the most recent grading period; submit a letter of recommendation - not from a family member; an autobiographical statement of approximately 500 words containing applicants goals and objectives; include a wallet-sized photo it must be an actual photo printed on photo paper or a jpg attachment to an email when submitting electronically, poor quality photos cannot be published.
