To assist dedicated students entering the required fifth year to obtain a CPA license. Qualifications: Applicants must be permanent resident of Florida who an African American; a Hispanic American, a person of Spanish or Portuguese culture with origins in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, south America, central America, or the Caribbean, regardless of race; an Asian American, a person having origins in any of the original peoples of the far east, southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, or the pacific islands, including the Hawaiian islands before 1778; a native American, a person who has origins in any of the Indian tribes of north America before 1835, upon presentation of proper documentation thereof as established by rule of the department of management services; an American woman. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on scholastic ability and performance (including the intention of sitting for the CPA exam). How to apply: Applicants must submit online form: should include most recent official college or university transcripts; registrar’s certification (provide to applicant school’s registrar’s office); financial aid certification (provide to applicants school’s registrar’s office); a 500 word essay on what applicants life goals are and how this scholarship will help applicant achieve them; federal student aid (FAFSA) FAFSA submission summary.
