To provide maximum flexibility to meet the philanthropic goals of our donors and the needs of our community. Qualifications: Applicants must be a demonstrate financial need; resident of the State of Hawaii; resident of Maui County; attend an accredited, two or four year college or university or pursue a vocational training program at an accredited institution; be in recovery from a mental health/behavioral/or psychological disability and discuss this in a separate essay; minimum GPA of 2.7; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee criteria; preferences: students of Hawaiian ancestry; recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. How to apply: Applicants must be submit online application form; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required or recommended for specific scholarships; current cumulative grade point average (gpa); transcripts should be as recent as possible and should not be a duplicate from a prior year hcf application; letters of recommendation (lor) are not typically required to submit Applicants application; Submit 2 letters of recommendation from mentors, teachers, counselors, or other mental health professionals.
