To provide scholarships to Hawaii students pursuing degrees in communications or journalism. Qualifications: Applicants must be demonstrate financial need; be in good academic standing or by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0; resident of the State of Hawaii; major in Communications or Journalism; must attend a school in the United States. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee criteria; preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include FAFSA submission summary; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required; additional documents: letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores for high school seniors, verification of organization affiliations, native Hawaiian ancestry verification. Focus: Communications; Journalism.
