To provide scholarships to African American students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. Qualifications: Applicants must be demonstrate financial feed; undergraduate or graduate degree student; maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; citizen of the United States (do not have to be a Hawaii resident.); pursue studies in the social sciences pertaining to international understanding and interracial fellowship; be of African-American ethnicity; enroll at a college or university in Hawaii; must attend a school in the United States. Selection criteria: Preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include FAFSA submission summary; most recent unofficial grade transcript; any short essays and/or other documents that may be required; additional documents: letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores for high school seniors, verification of organization affiliations, native Hawaiian ancestry verification.
