To provide individuals who value the importance of a sound education along with proper reading and writing skills. Qualifications: Applicants must be a Connecticut resident or attending school in Connecticut, and must be a college or graduate student enrolled in a full-time program to teach blind and visually impaired students in Connecticut; need not be a member of the national federation of the blind of Connecticut; any full-time college student or graduating high school seniors who will be attending college full-time in the fall with plans to teach blind and visually impaired students. Selection criteria: Selection will be basis of academic quality, service to the community and financial need. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include applicant’s letter: describe applicant career goals and how our scholarship might help applicant in achieving them; give us a brief biographical sketch - tell us about applicant academic interests, applicant extracurricular activities, awards/honors applicant may have received and any community service applicant have been involved in; two letters of recommendation: from teachers, professors, employers, or other professionals; official academic transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
