To assist Linville Ridge employees and their family members who are pursuing higher education. Qualifications: Applicants must be eligible for full or part-time employees of Linville Ridge, children whose parents or legal guardians are employed by Linville Ridge, grandchildren of Linville Ridge employees, or children of retired Linville Ridge employees who were employed a minimum of 3 years; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled, or plan to be enrolled for the upcoming semester, for at least 12 semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education; undergraduates, graduates, medical and professional school students and adult re-entry students who are attending community colleges, four-year universities, career/technical schools, teaching credential programs and graduate, medical or professional schools in the United States are eligible. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; committee considers academic standing, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and motivation; financial need may be taken into account. How to apply: Applications must submit through online; the components of scholarships application include: demographic data including county of residence, gender, date of birth; high school information including name of high school and gpa; standardized test scores, if taken; very few nccf scholarships require the submission of standardized test scores; school/college planned for fall attendance; year of study for coming fall semester (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, other); enrollment status (full-time or part-time); essay and/or supplemental questions (prompt provided in the application form); list of extracurricular activities; current or most recent transcript; two letters of recommendation; one from a teacher; and one from a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, pastor, supervisor, or other qualified individual; signature by student (or parent/guardian if applicant is under 18); most nccf scholarships also require the fasfa student aid index (sai) number; all applicants who indicate they have financial need will be asked to provide their fasfa student aid index (sai) number and will be asked to provide additional information about their financial need; email address of applicants school counselor; high school transcripts must be submitted with the application; email addresses of applicants references; two letters of recommendation must be submitted by applicants references; fafsa student aid index; intended major or field of study.
