To provide college scholarships to students residing in Indiana. Qualifications: Applicants must be pre-k, primary or secondary school students; must be undergraduate or graduate students at a college or university who are pursuing studies or conducting research to meet the requirements for an academic or professional degree; students - whether full-time or part-time - who receive a scholarship for study at an educational institution that provides an educational program acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor's or higher degree, or offers a training program to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation and is authorized under federal or state law to provide such a program and is accredited by a national recognized accreditation agency; applicants must reside in Indiana and have attended an Indiana high school during their senior year in high school; to be eligible to receive this scholarship, said high school graduates must have attended high school in Indiana for at least three (3) years, and be ranked in the top one-third of their high school (grades 9, 10, 11 and 12). Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria; criteria for scholarship may include, but are not limited to, the following: prior academic performance; performance of each applicant on tests designed to measure ability and aptitude for educational work; recommendations from instructors of such applicant and any others who have knowledge of the applicant’s capabilities; additional biographical information regarding an applicant’s career, academic and other relevant experiences, financial need; conclusions basis as to the applicant’s motivation, character, ability, or potential; Child of an individual who has been an employee of Pike Lumber Co., Inc., an Indiana Corporation, for one year or more; applicants, 20 points. No, 0 points; GPA: 0 to 20 points; Standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc.): 0 to 20 points; extracurricular school activities: 0 to 10 points; extracurricular non-school activities: 0 to 10 points; original essay on the value to the applicant of a college education (2 page maximum length): 0 to 10 points; and recommendation letters: 0 to 10 points.
