To support students pursuing degrees in human services/public safety fields. Qualifications: Applicants must be have minimum GPA 2.5; must be pursuing a career in Human Services dedicated to Public Safety: Police, Fire, Water Safety or other agencies with similar related responsibilities through either an Associate or Bachelor's degree. Selection criteria: Preference given to a Kamehameha Schools graduate from any campus; demonstrate through the personal statement questions, plan on how this career will help make a difference in the community and family; completed applications submitted by the program deadline date and time are reviewed according to specific fund criteria; applications are sent to individual selection committees for review and selections. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application, which includes: One personal statement essay and one list of extracurricular/community service activities; school transcript (complete with final grade information); current high school seniors attending Kamehameha Schools only: One letter of recommendation; supplemental documents such as LORs, FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) and art portfolios; demonstrate financial need, Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Essay explaining how a career in one of these fields will help make a difference in community and family. Focus: Fires and fire prevention; Law enforcement; Public administration.
