To help offset the financial burden for a student’s entire undergraduate career. Qualifications: Applicants must be reside in Escondido, CA or Valley Center, CA; be graduating seniors attending or former graduates who attended a high school in Escondido, CA (including San Pasqual academy in Escondido, CA) or Valley Center, CA that have attended such high school for 4 years; be graduating seniors from a private high school or community college students who have lived in Escondido or valley center for the 4-year period prior to graduation; enroll full-time at an accredited two-year junior or community college in California, or an accredited four-year college or university in California, in all cases pursuing a bachelor's degree; have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; have a demonstrated potential to achieve a successful academic experience leading to a bachelor's degree at the college the applicant is planning to attend, e.g. having SAT and/or ACT scores that demonstrate an ability to complete the course work necessary to earn a bachelor's degree at such college; SAT and ACT scores are considered in light of the college the applicant is planning to attend; be United States citizens or permanent residents; graduating high school seniors; current college students (undergraduate or graduate); adult re-entry students; students with financial needs (includes middle-income families); students attending four-year universities, community colleges or career/technical schools; commitment to applicants education; potential for success in college; participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience; current residence in San Diego County (for at least one year). Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committees will consider the information in application, including activities, academics, financial need and personal statements.
