To support students pursuing four-year college degrees. Qualifications: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who resides in the Southern California Edison's (SCE) service area; must have a minimum 3.0 GPA; must have a SCE Customer Number from the family’s SCE utility bill; must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the United States on a full-time basis in the upcoming academic year; must intend to pursue a major in computer and information systems, engineering, engineering technology, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources and conservation, or physical sciences; must demonstrate financial need. Renewable for up to three additional years if criteria are met. Selection criteria: Selection is based on academics, work experience, participation and leadership in school and community activities, unusual personal or family circumstances, statement of educational and career goals, and online recommendation. How to apply: Applicant must complete the online application and submit current transcripts, a copy of the family’s most recently filed IRS Form 1040 (first two pages), the SCE Customer Number listed on their bill, two 1,000-character essays (one impact statement and another on overcoming challenges), and a high resolution (1-2 MB) digital head-and-shoulders photo of the applicant with a plain background, which will be used in promotional materials if selected as a recipient.
