To provide for students who plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields. Qualifications: Applicants must be graduating high school senior, currently enrolled undergraduate student or police academy cadet; must attending or attended high school in the greater San Francisco Bay Area (includes San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties); must have minimum cumulative unweighted grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; must be full-time undergraduate enrollment at a two-year or four-year college or police academy; must be U.S. citizen (national) or permanent resident; must demonstrated desire and a plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields; law school students are not eligible. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on committee criteria.
