To assist law students and prospective law students. Qualifications: Applicants must be a lawful U.S. permanent resident or citizen; be currently enrolled in or accepted to a US law school; applicants must not have received the same scholarship in a previous year. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include: submit a completed 1000-word minimum essay discussing the importance of pro-bono legal work; title of the document submitted must have applicants name in it; all applicants must submit a 1,000-word or more essay; essay should focus on the importance of providing free legal services to those who cannot afford it, and why this is beneficial to the community at large and to the legal system as a whole; applicants are to write an essay explaining why pro-bono work is so important and the ways in which pro-bono work can help the community.
