To defend and promote the right of the peoples of the Americas to remain freely informed through independent, responsible, and objective journalism. Qualifications: Applicants must be native to countries in North and South America, or the Caribbean; reporters, editors or managers at newspapers, broadcasters or digital news media platforms; between the ages of 21 and 35 years old at the date of application; with mastery of the language of the program of study; applicants from the U.S. and Canada must provide certification from a recognized authority of proficiency in Spanish; or Portuguese for those going to Brazil; Latin American applicants must pass a TOEFL language exam. Selection criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need. How to apply: Application package must include: the registration application; an autobiographical essay in English, Spanish, or Portuguese; of about 200 words; an essay on the projected curriculum, about 200 words; three letters of recommendation; a resumé (CV); three examples of the published or broadcast news articles by the applicant; the TOEFL score for applicants whose native language is not English and who apply to study in the U.S.; a copy of the academic transcript and university diploma documenting that applicants completed their undergraduate studies; there is no need to notarize or translate them; personal data; education; news media jobs held; study plans; autobiography; academic transcript; letters of recommendation; certification.
