To encourage students to pursue a career in defense law and reclaim the rights of wrongfully convicted individuals. Qualifications: Applicant must be either a graduating high school senior enrolling, or an undergraduate student currently enrolled, in a college, trade school, or university for the fall semester. Applicant must reside in the United States and plan to study in the United States. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the best essay submitted. How to apply: Applicant must write an essay (500 words minimum) detailing the case of a wrongfully accused individual who was released or is still imprisoned that inspired them to pursue a career in defense law. Applicants are encouraged to outline the case in a detailed way and artfully describe how it led them to choose a career in law. Essay should be submitted via email. Focus: Law.
