To support the dependent of a member of the Vermont Sheriffs' Association who plans to pursue post-secondary education. Qualifications: Applicants must be a dependent of a member of the Vermont sheriffs' association; must demonstrate academic achievement; must demonstrate financial need; must demonstrate school/community involvement; must attend an accredited school approved for federal title iv funding (pell grants, federal direct loans); attending (or planning to attend) a college, university or training program within the United States or Canada who are: United States citizens. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on essay, academic achievement, and financial need. How to apply: Applicants must submit online application form; should include: federal Student Aid (FAFSA); transcript; other required documents; should be submitted on a separate sheet of paper; essays: each essay must be written by the applicant and should include the applicant’s name and last four digits of their social security number at the top; general essay: commitment/goals; financial need; community service; uniqueness (minimum 250 words); membership (provide the name of the individual who is a member of the Vermont Sheriffs’ Association, and their relationship to applicants).
