CASFM Undergraduate Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to promote interest in the CASFM organization and its goals among students and the engineering community.   This scholarship was originally funded by the Urban Watersheds Research Institute.   Qualifications: An undergraduate student in the field of Civil Engineering or a closely related field in Colorado. Applicants must be registered to take at least 10 credit-hours of coursework per semester. Students must be in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year. Preferance for Colorado students. Selection criteria: Three applicants will be shortlisted based on this application, one-page resume, and a short essay describing their personal and career goals and how they relate to the goals of CASFM. Preference will be given to local applicants, so please also describe your connection to Colorado. Short-listed applicants will be notified by November 12, 2025. A panel will hold a short (approximately 20 minute) interview with short-listed applicants in mid-November. The successful candidate will be notified by December 1, 2025. Funds will be disbursed by check directly to the student. Previous recipients of a CASFM scholarship are not eligible.The scholarship recipient will also have the option to attend the 2026 CASFM Conference. Registration and three nights lodging at the conference are included if the recipient commits to accepting the award at the CASFM annual lunch meeting at the conference. Focus: Civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, watershed management, floodplain management, stormwater management, stormwater quality, emergency response, meteorology, climatology, geology, geomorphology, geospatial data science, and construction management
