The Albers-Alexander LGBTQ Law Scholarship Fund was created to reduce barriers to legal education and expand opportunities for LGBTQ law students who demonstrate leadership, resilience, and financial need. By supporting students who are often underrepresented in higher educationincluding LGBTQ students of color, transgender students, immigrants, first-generation college students, and those from low-income or geographically isolated backgroundsthe scholarship aims to cultivate the next generation of legal advocates advancing equity and justice for the LGBTQ community. Qualifications: Qualifications: Students must be a first, second, or third-year law students attending one of the following law schools:   * Santa Clara University, School of Law (Santa Clara, CA) * University of California at Berkeley, School of Law (Berkeley, CA) * University of California at Davis, School of Law (Davis, CA) * The University of California College of the Law (San Francisco, CA) * University of Wisconsin Law School (Madison, WI)   * Identify as LGBTQ and be pursuing a law degree.   * Be a first-, second-, or third-year law student enrolled at one of the following schools:   * Santa Clara University School of Law   * University of California, Berkeley School of Law   * University of California, Davis School of Law   * University of California College of the Law, San Francisco   * University of Wisconsin Law School   * Demonstrate leadership and courage on behalf of the LGBTQ community.   * Face barriers to educational access (e.g., economic hardship, racial/ethnic marginalization, immigrant status, first-generation college student, transgender identity, homelessness, foster care, poverty, or geographic isolation).   * Show significant financial need. Selection criteria: Selection Criteria:   * Leadership & Advocacy: Demonstrated leadership, courage, or advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ community.   * Barriers to Access: Experience overcoming significant barriers to education, including economic, racial/ethnic, social, geographic, or political disenfranchisement.   * Financial Need: Clear evidence of significant financial need.   * Academic Standing: Currently enrolled and in good standing as a 1L, 2L, or 3L student at one of the eligible law schools.   How to apply: Create an account to access Horizons Foundation's Scholarship Online Portal and submit your application.
